God Accepts Us As We Are !

The title of our article this week is a popular one in the secular world and in religious world around us today. It is a totally false statement! The very idea that those who profess to be religious, and to believe in God, and the Bible to be God's will; for man, to state this is utterly mind boggling to me. It shows that those who would make such a statement are either totally ignorant of what the Bible teaches, or are willfully denying what the Bible clearly teaches. I read last week where one who calls himself a "man of God" made this statement after admitting there is sin in his life. With this type of blasphemy being taught, no wonder that "Christianity" is losing its influence in this nation both among the unbelievers and many that profess to believe in God. ~ If this statement were true, it would mean that the Word of God is false for no one would be lost! "F or the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10) If it were true that God "accepts us are we are" then the death of the Son of God on the cross was cruel meaningless act! "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." (1John_2:1-2)

If this statement is true "repent" becomes a hollow meaningless word. "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3) The change spoken of by Paul in 2 Corinthians 5: 17 would be unnecessary and Paul would be a false teacher. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2Cor._5: 17)

Does God love those steeped in sin? YES "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Rom. 5:6-8, cf. John_3:16) Are those living in sin in a saved condition? NO "Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come." "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." (John 8:21, 24) There is a vast difference in God's loving man in what ever condition he is in and God accepting (saving man in his sin) man in his sin. (Matt. 7:21, Acts 2:37-38)

The space for this article would not begin to accommodate all the scriptures that Prove that God will not accept man in any condition. "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the Truth” (1 tim.2: 3-4). God wants all to be Saved And for that reason He sent his Son to die on the cross. He is a loving God but He is also a God of justice and wrath.

Let us. look a two scriptures that totally destroy the philosophy that God "accepts us as we are” regardless of “how we may be”--- know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither Fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God., And such were some of you; but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. “( 1 Cor.6:9-1)

Lie not to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him. Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, Circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free; but Christ is all, in all. Put on therefore, as the Elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.” (Col 3:9-11) They put off the old (sin) and put on the New man.

Christ came to change us into His likeness, not to “accept us as we are”!!
